Knife Gate Valve

Handles slurries with high solid content: ore pulp, sludge, tailings, concentrate, coal slurry, slag slurry.

Flotation process in concentrators, thickener underflow, tailings pipelines, slurry pump inlet/outlet, backfill stations.

Gate cuts through fibers and solids; full-bore design minimizes flow resistance and clogging; seat has self-cleaning action.

Body: Carbon steel or cast iron, lined with wear-resistant rubber, polyurethane, or ceramic. Gate: Surface hardening required (e.g., hardfacing with alloy, chrome carbide, spray welding). Extreme duty: full stainless or duplex steel. Actuation: Mostly pneumatic or hydraulic for quick shut-off and high thrust.

Metal-Seated Ball Valve & Plug Valve

High-pressure slurries, media with fine particles, high-temperature lines, or processes prone to crystallization.

Sealing Faces: Must use metal hard-sealing (e.g., tungsten carbide, Stellite). Seat and ball/plug require lapping. Actuator: Typically large torque pneumatic or hydraulic actuators for reliable shut-off under high friction.

Water-Cooled or High-Temperature Gate/Butterfly Valve

High-temperature metallurgical flue gas, hot air, gas pipelines; high-temperature melt transport systems (special design).

Blast furnace hot blast stoves, converter/EAF flue gas dedusting, sinter machine flue gas, copper/aluminum smelting waste heat boiler inlet/outlet.

Operates at 800C or higher via water-cooled jacket or special high-temperature alloy (e.g., Cr-Mo steel, 310S stainless steel).

Cooling: Ensure continuous water supply. Use extended bonnet to protect packing. Materials: Medium temp (<600C): WCB+STL. High temp (>600C): heat-resistant steel. Sealing: Flexible graphite packing and metal seals at high temperatures.

Wear-Resistant Ceramic Valve

Extremely abrasive powder and granular pneumatic conveying systems.

Pulverized coal preparation/conveying, ore powder injection, fly ash handling, raw cement/cement clinker lines.

Wetted parts lined with or made of engineering ceramics (alumina, silicon carbide). Hardness second only to diamond. Wear life tens of times longer than ordinary steel.

Types: Ceramic wear-resistant ball valve, ceramic pinch valve, ceramic discharge valve.

Parallel Double Disc Gate Valve

Reliable shut-off for high-pressure, high-temperature, large-diameter clean or fine-particle media.

Blast furnace gas mains, high-pressure oxygen lines (strict degreasing required), steel mill high-pressure descaling systems.

Wedging mechanism between discs ensures forced sealing. Reliable sealing, good adaptability to temperature changes.

 

Diaphragm Valve & Lined Valve (Corrosion-Resistant)

Strongly corrosive chemical media in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy: sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, caustic, solvents.

Leaching tanks, extraction tanks, electrolyte circulation, acid/alkali tank inlet/outlet, wastewater treatment.

Media is completely isolated from valve body metal, offering excellent corrosion resistance.

Lining Material: Select based on media: PTFE (F4), F46, PO, PP, rubber, etc. Body Material: Carbon steel lined or stainless steel.

Check Valve & Air Release / Pressure Relief Valve

Check Valve: Prevents backflow of slurry or high-pressure water to protect pumps. For solids-laden media: wafer dual-plate or rubber flap check valves (low flow resistance, clog-resistant). Air Release Valve: Installed at pipeline high points to remove air, preventing air locks. Safety/Relief Valve: Essential for protecting pressurized vessels and piping systems.

Actuation Method Choice

Pneumatic Actuator

Mainstream choice. Fast action, simple structure, excellent explosion-proof performance (intrinsically safe). Ideal for dusty mining environments with potential flammable gases. Used for quick shut-off valves (e.g., knife gate, ball valves).

Electric Actuator

Suitable for applications requiring precise modulation or located in dispersed, air-source-lacking areas. Used for some control valves or remotely operated clean water valves.

Hydraulic Actuator

Used for valves requiring extremely high thrust/torque (large diameter, high pressure), e.g., blast furnace gas shut-off valves. System is complex but provides immense force.
